Getting Started
How do I schedule an appointment?
Call the main number at Labyrinth Counseling, 630-305-5702 and leave a message in the Main Mailbox by pressing “0”, or you can fill out the Contact Form at the bottom of this page. Either way, you will receive an answer within one business day.
Another option is to read the biographies of the Psychotherapists under the PSYCHOTHERAPISTS Tab and call one of them directly using the Extension Directory in the CONTACT Tab. Or fill out the Contact Form to request a specific therapist call or email you. During the initial contact, basic information will be gathered and an initial appoint set.
What should I expect in my first appointment?
For a Telehealth appointment, we ask you to download, print, and fill out the paperwork under the Forms Tab. Specifically, Intake Form, Client-Psychotherapist Agreement, Acknowledgement of HIPAA, Release of Information, Telehealth Consent and Payment Guarantee. Your therapist will discuss the paperwork with you.
For a session at Labyrinth Counseling Center, we ask that you arrive fifteen minutes prior to your appointment to fill out the initial paperwork. You can also find these under the Forms Tab. Please remember to bring your insurance card with you.
Whether at the Naperville offices or via Telehealth, your therapist will greet you and you’ll begin your healing journey together. You may feel nervous about this first appointment and that is natural as you are meeting your therapist for the first time. Your therapist will take time to acclimate you to the environment and allow your nervous system time to settle and arrive.
This first meeting is a time to share what you would like to work on and your goals for your time in therapy. Your therapist will have questions for you and invite you to ask questions of your therapist and the process.
Can I use my health insurance for services at Labyrinth Counseling?
All Labyrinth therapists are in-network with BlueCross/BlueShield (BCBS) of Illinois PPO and BlueCross/BlueChoice PPO. We are able to bill other PPO insurance plans as “Out of Network Providers.” How much your plan will pay for “Out of Network” coverage may vary. If you would like to know before the first session, we recommend that you call the number on the back of your insurance card to check for coverage.
Here are some questions that may be helpful to ask your insurance company:
What are my outpatient mental health benefits?
What is my annual deductible amount and has it been met this benefit year?
If you do not have BCBS ask: What are my “out of network” mental health benefits?
What is my co-pay or co-insurance amount?
